The tile is done and the railing is up!

The Great Room/Library railing is all together. It was designed, cut and assembled by J. It was welded by a friend. We will be priming it and then painting black again, since it has surface rust.

The view from the entrance way into the Library.

Now you are seeing the entrance.

The beginning of the fireplace. These stone were collected by the whole family from the outer edge of the property in the Summer and Fall of 2012. The kids also helped us bring them into the house.

That pile will grow even more.

Our kitchen tile is down, grouted and washed.

I love the way the sun comes in and hits the floor.

The bathroom for the kids.

Even our little girl is helping wash the tile.

The Master Bathroom tile is looking great!

Mt is washing the Master shower walls.

Our chicks have arrived!

Our chicks arrived today! We have 4 Rhode Island Reds and 4 Buff Orpingtons. The kids and I are in love! One of the Rhode Island Reds seems to be attached to me. She seems to come when I make a kissing sound and at times she tries to jump out of the cage. Today she fell asleep in the palm of my hand. When I put her down, instead of stepping off my hand to join her friends, she tried to fly further up my arm.

The kids are having a ball with them. They are getting really good with being gentle with them.
We expect to be getting 8 more girls in April, plus one boy. Then in May we will get 4 more, for a total of 20 chickens and 1 Rooster.

Tile and paint

So far, J has completed the tile in our Master Shower. Today, he is starting with the kitchen. I am so excited. I am thinking of painting the wall that has the door that goes out to the deck a similar blue as the link I posted. I hope to get some pictures tomorrow of the kitchen. The 2nd story is primed. I have just finished painting the white ceilings in all the rooms and inside the closets. That is neck and back breaking work. Next, the kids have to find the colors/themes they want to paint their rooms.

Dry Walling is winding down

Dry Walling is winding down. I am starting to get overwhelmed again with the thought of getting this house in order to move. It will be coming sooner then I know it...I know it :) LOL!

Starting on the metal railing, with a wood top in our Library Loft.

The entrance of the boys' bedroom.

The Master Suite :) The kids are standing in the corner we will hang a flat screen TV. The door next to them is the closet. The next door is the bathroom.

Master Suite view!

S is walking into her room...right across the hall from us.

Stairs to the 2nd floor will have the same style railing.

John's beautiful ceiling in the Great Room/Loft area. We are so glad we did not Dry Wall it!

Yep! No regrets! John did an amazing job!

The kitchen area...."Yes, kids, Dad CAN write on the walls! #1) He is doing Math! #2) to build our house #3) we are painting over it....#4) DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME!!!

Kitchen table area that leads to a deck. The area just outside this door will be screened in part of the deck.

Our boy being silly!

The girl needs to get in on the funny picture time. One job I would not want to do. Remember, I broke my foot taking a bad step off a latter. If you need a Dry Waller, these guys are great!

Insulation is done. Drywall has started!

Insulation is all in. Soon a real "dramatic" look will be starting...Drywall!

J found some drywallers by inquiring on Craigs List. He feels he hit the Jackpot with this crew. They are only 2 guys but have a hard-work ethic. They are brothers from a VERY large family, so that should explain it.

My beautiful girl is enjoying the development of her room. They are working hanging the drywall on the 2nd floor first.

Notice the ceiling in the School Room/Library area. You will love the pictures I will get on the next post.

Our Master Bedroom still needs walls. The next post I will do will be when the drywall is almost complete. I think J will be building the fireplace or putting in our wood floors next. Because of the work the fireplace needs, I think he is leaning to that next. The stone used for the fireplace will be from our property!
