Working on hardwood floors

Chicken coop is done! One house done, one to go.

I think the girls like it.

This perch was not stable so I had to "upgrade it". They have never lived in anything with solid walls. They spent some time pecking at them to check them out.

Hardwood floor are going in now!

Looking good!

Trucks had to deliver sand for our septic tank and they got stuck... BAD!

Dirt, chicken coop, and staining ...OH MY!

Another pile of sand was delivered for our garage and septic field. Of course the kids had to play in it!

J is supervising as I am building our chicken coop! Yes we will make it sound!

It sure is hard squaring things up when the ground is not flat!

The Great Room beams and ceiling are getting stained now. Man, it sure does stink!! Face masks are required.

It is so exciting watching it all come together.

Ceder Shake and fireplace are DONE...almost!

The Limestone hearth needs to be cemented into the fireplace and the mantle needs to be stained, then the fireplace will be DONE!

This is the first time we have seen the beams uncovered. Both of us love the gains and knots that are natural in wood. Unfortunately, out of 3 beams only one had this side showing to the middle of the Great Room :( I told my wonderful husband that after a while he would not notice it. He seem to think differently. :)

The first story Ceder Shake is done.

OK When I put this paint up in our Master Bedroom, all I could think about is Prison walls! J asked me "when have you seen prison walls?" "On my to visits with the Prison Ministry"

Today I show up and what looked like gray with a little blue, now looks like blue with a little gray. I think I am OK with it. Of course my photography lighting lacks in showing the true color.

Ceder Shake is going up!!

J says he works on the side with the shade. This is our 1st story Ceder Shake Siding going up.

The view from the hay field. It is already up to mid-shin. I might need a ladder for our final outside pictures. LOL!

The City just approved Natural Gas, so that Propane Tank will be gone, hopefully, by Fall.

When these 2 pallets were delivered (at the time the same height as the one on the left), J looked at me and said "What was I thinking? Who is going to put all these up?" I pointed to him, and he looked behind him, hoping to find someone else :)

Road side view.

Garage side.

Porch goes up and is almost done!

It is now the first week of May and the porch is up and the roof is going onto the house. The next is the railing and then the Cedar Shake Siding. J is the most efficient builder with time and materials I have ever seen or heard about.

I just can't believe how big the portico will make the house even look bigger. It is all because the city says we can not build the barn where we want because it would be "in the front yard". So we are extending the house out with a portico...Yicks! :) It will be nice on those rainy and snowy days, though.

In about 2 months, I might need a ladder to take a picture of the house, since the hay will be so tall.

More completed pictures of this side will soon be coming! They almost have the roof done, just one more day.

This is our laundry room color. Again, just the first coat, since our professional painter will trim and do the 2nd coat.

Never too young to help Dad put up posts for the porch. The boys held almost all the posts for their Dad. I am sure they will have great memories.

This is our Mudroom. It is pretty but dark.

This is the kids bathroom, which is the same color as the laundry room.

One day we will be having dinner in our screened in area on the porch. The entrance is off the kitchen dining area.

It is the beginning of the porch.

This does look big. They look so tiny, walking toward me.
